Lotus Foundations: Hiding in Plain Sight

I've been doing some research for a prospective client on the possibility of installing Lotus Foundations and had difficulty getting some clear information on the product. (I did not plumb the depths of IBM's PartnerWorld site, so there could be good information there, but I suspect not.) The old Netix site didn't help much, and neither did the official Lotus Foundations site.

Taking Notes Podcast #84 was good, but having something in writing is way better. Some of the stuff Sean Burgess and Graham Dodge have written about and the things Sean has mentioned on a couple episodes of the 1352 Report are helpful, but I'm just looking for some basic specs.

Where do you think I found a good overview of product?

Go figure...

What about http://www.lotusfoundations.com ?

Ed,

That would also be the Netix site I reference.

I was looking for the differentiation between the software option and the hardware/software option. None of the "official" sites come right out and mention them separately.

Information on the hardware and the benefits the hardware provides are located here:

Basically, the hardware gives you a one-stop-shop in terms of ordering and support, as well as guaranteed full compatibility with the software. In addition, you get a DOM that provides redundancy if all your main disks fail, an LCD screen to allow for headless configuration and a hotswap-compatible backup cartridge.

Joe,

I saw something similar on the IBM site, but I don't see any links to the document you reference on the Nitix site.

I was aware of all the hardware benefits. I was mostly critiquing the lack of organization in the marketing materials. The Wikipedia entry seems to cover all the basic questions in one page.
